Velvet Ribbon Pumpkins - An Easy To Make Decoration

For all the people who have asked how the velvet ribbon pumpkins are made, here are some stage by stage photos and instructions that might help explain the process, these are not as difficult as they might at first seem:

YOU WILL NEED

Berisfords Velvet 36mm- 7 pieces cut straight @ 15cm
Berisfords Velvet 9mm- 1 piece cut straight @ 20cm
Berisfords Satin 3mm- approx. 1m (for tying loops and joining together)

METHOD

Take each 15cm piece of velvet and tied them into single loops secured with 3mm tie. We used a bow jig to do this but alternatively you could pop a few stitches to secure the loops.

Once all 7 loops are created thread more 3mm ribbon through all the loops to bring them together.

We made sure the joins of the loops were facing the inside so they were not visible.

Take the 20cm piece and fold in half then knot.

Before tying the loops together place the folded knotted piece through the centre.

Pull the tie tightly to bring everything together and knot.

Then just fan out the loops to give the rounded effect

The images below show a visual step by step process which might help make the instructions a little easier to follow. We found that once you have made the first one the process becomes a lot easier and straight forward.

As always we are always keen to see an pictures of your creations, feel free to post them on a Facebook timeline our username is simplyribbons1.

Happy ribbon crafting.
